Remember Spring Recital
May 28-30
This year’s recital will include more 225 dancers in 36 classes. Twenty-one apprentices and five graduating seniors will be highlighted alongside 15 instructors. The theme of Remember is drawn from the book of Book of Exodus, where God speaks to Moses: Remember what I told you. Remember that I’m here. Remember that I AM.

A priority code may be used by Creative and Pre-level JCSD families beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, April 27. Each dancer will be allowed to purchase a maximum of 2 tickets per show in which he/she is performing. Tickets will be available to the rest of JCSD’s families and the general public at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 1. A maximum of four tickets can be purchased per transaction at that time.
Getting to the Recital Venue
For the evening shows on Friday and Saturday, the annual Function 4 Junction will close down Highway 99 between High Pass Road/First Avenue and 18th Avenue from 5-10 p.m. We recommend giving yourself extra time to get to the recital. Coming from Eugene, take Highway 99 and turn left on Prairie Road just before Summit RV, left on First Avenue, right on Oaklea Drive, right on 10th Avenue, and right on Kalmia. Just after 8th Avenue, you’ll see Christ’s Center Church’s parking lot on your left. If you’re coming from the north, note that Highway 99 will be closed at 18th. Take 18th Avenue west and turn left on Oakley Drive, left on 10th Avenue, and right on Kalmia to just past 8th Avenue. Parking attendants will direct you to a parking spot. You are also welcome to park on the surrounding streets keeping in mind that 6th Avenue will be closed. Parking is available on the street around the building but is prohibited in the lot across from the main studio doors on Juniper Street.
Seating
Last year we received quite the surprise on the day we opened ticket sales and were overwhelmed with your support of JCSD. In response, we added a fourth show and additional seats; however, we are aware that many of those seats provided only a partial view of the stage. One day soon we hope to be in a larger theatre setting, but for this year, God has made it abundantly clear that we’re supposed to be at Christ’s Center Church for this year’s recital.
530 W. 7th Ave., Junction City
We’ve made some changes that we hope will ease the stress of purchasing tickets and provide unobstructed views of the stage. This comes at a cost, however, as we must limit ticket sales this year. We ask that you thoughtfully consider your dancer’s schedule and consider volunteering during one or more shows to help free up seats and yet remain part of the amazing weekend. — With gratitude from the JCSD Executive Team

Support JCSD
Each year JCSD partners with local businesses, organizations, and individuals who would like to:
- sponsor a show
- purchase ad space in the all-color, keepsake program
- support the scholarship program
- wait with dancers backstage
- bake or buy yummy treats to share at intermission to benefit the scholarship fund
- prepare and sell roses
- greet and seat guests
- clean up after shows
- help with pre-recital preparations
Roses are a traditional gift to honor a dancer at his or her recital, and we make it easy for you to do this. We sell beautiful roses in the lobby at each show. All proceeds go to support the JCSD Scholarship Fund.
FAQ
Remembering the Day: Our staff photographer will be capturing shots throughout the weekend, and a videographer will be recording each show. Dancers paid a recital fee at the beginning of the year that will entitle them to one free show download this summer. So, we encourage you to sit back and enjoy the show! Please note that flash photography is not allowed inside the Sanctuary. While quick snapshots are OK so long as the view of other guests is not blocked, please plan to get up and stand along the back wall if you would like to video all or a portion of the show.
Littlest Guests: Each adult is invited to bring a child age 2 or younger along free of charge and without a ticket if that child will be sitting on his/her lap without obstructing the view of those sitting nearby.
Length of Show: Each show will run about 2 hours.
Intermission: Each show will include a 15-minute intermission for guests to move about, use the bathrooms in the west wing, and purchase treats to enjoy.
JCSD Merchandise: New items will be available for purchase in the lobby at each show.
