Leaps & Turns
The Leaps and Turns class will focus on breaking down and learning the sequencing of each of the steps needed to fine tune and master a variety of leaps and turns. Not only will you learn leaps and turns, but you will also incorporate them into combinations placing a heavy focus on transitions and choreographic execution. This class will begin with focusing on technique, using your front and back core muscles as well as understanding where the movement is initiated from and how to connect the right muscles while executing the movement. Then we will begin blending leaping and turning technique with smooth transitions, emotional expression, and choreography retention. We value leaps and turns and want to keep class exciting and encompassing so that students can really learn to love technique and know why it’s important. We will also teach spotting techniques to reduce dizziness. This is a non-performing Level IIB+ class. Please note other placements on the 2023-24 Student Evaluation for correct enrollment.
