Amaris Ellsworth (junior instructor): Hi! My name is Amaris, and I’m so excited to be joining the JCSD staff this season as the Modern IA teacher! I’ve been dancing at JCSD since I was 5 years old, and my very first class was ballet. Over the years, I’ve added Jazz, modern, pointe, and hip hop to my training, but modern has always stood out as my favorite style. Being part of the JCSD Apprentice Team since the age of 10 (with a 2-year break in between) has helped shape me as both a dancer and a leader. It has also given me invaluable experience and preparation to step into a teaching role. I love sharing the art of dance with the next generation and helping them discover the joy and freedom that comes with movement. Most of all, I love encouraging students to dance from their hearts as an act of worship, glorifying God and thanking Him for the incredible gift He’s given us. I’m incredibly grateful for my JCSD studio family and all the ways they’ve poured into me and helped me become who I am today. As I enter my senior year of high school, I’m looking forward to cherishing every moment, and I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned through my senior solo at the end of the year!
