Tumble Bugs
Do you have a child that loves to jump, climb, and roll their way through life? If so, this camp is a perfect fit. Tumble bugs will incorporate both acrobatic skills and dance. Dancers will learn beginning gymnastics skills such as jumps, forward rolls, core strength, flexibility, bridges, and cartwheels. All skills will be taught through fun exercises, obstacle courses, games, and imagination. In this class, students will learn how to work together collaboratively, strengthening their communication skills and awareness of others.
Acro IA & IB
Acro is an athletic and dynamic dance style that blends classical dance technique with acrobatic elements. This class focuses on developing flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination through progressive acro skills and conditioning. Dancers will learn individual tricks as well as partner and group-based movements, which may be integrated into choreography to enhance performance quality and add dimension to other dance styles. Students begin in Acro IA unless placed higher based on current skills.
Flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination are all part of Acro. The skills and tricks learned in this class build upon the basic gymnastic elements learned in Acro I. These skills and tricks many done with a partner, team, or put into other dance classes for the further enhancement and fullness of each piece.
Acro III (placement only)
This class builds on the skills and tricks learned in Acro I and II.
Open Acro (level II+)
Open Acro is a non-performing class which focuses only on acrobatic skills. The purpose of this class is to grow in new or existing acro skills, so that they can be applied into a performing class or dance piece. If a student is unable to commit to each week, he/she may drop in the weeks that work for $20 per class.
