Hello! I am Miss Kerry. I have been on staff with JCSD since 2011 teaching ballet, modern, and jazz. I began training in ballet at the age of 6 at Hosanna Dance Studio where I was also given the opportunity to study jazz, tap, modern, dance theater, hip hop, pointe, and ballroom. Since then, I have received training at Lane Community College and the University of Oregon as well as from many gifted instructors such as Alito Alessi, Margo Van Ummersen, Sarah Ebert, Rita J. Honka, Tymme and Aury Reitz, and Jennifer Knight Dills. I have my Associate of Arts in psychology and am currently at the University of Oregon pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Dance. While training under Jennifer Knight Dills, she helped awaken not only my love for dance but my passion for dance history. She continues to be a source of wisdom and encourages me in my training and faith.
In my spare time you can find me doing homework, choreographing or hiking Spencer’s butte with my best friend Mrs. Amanda, working at Camp Harlow, serving at First Baptist Church of Eugene, reading up on psychology or dance, drinking way too much coffee, watching the Duck game or the Eagles game, or dancing down the aisles at Safeway.
