I Promise – Spring Recital 2019

Dear JCSD Families,

This year’s curriculum and recital theme are based on God’s promises — the ones He has shown us in His Word. Dancers have learned a new promise of God each month and have been encouraged to memorize a Bible verse that supports it. The JCSD staff chose music and choreographed their pieces out of these promises, and I am confident you will be blessed by this year’s I Promise recital.

We often view the word promise differently than God originally intended it to be understood — maybe because people we love have made us promises and then broken them. But when we look into the Bible, we see how God uses several Hebrew and Greek words along with visual reminders to show us the depth of His enduring promises. He gave us debar in Hebrew, which in its active form means to speak, to utter words, and to subdue, and logos in Greek, meaning words, speech, or divine utterances. He offered the rainbow as a promise to never flood the earth again. Birds show us His faithfulness in care for us. The ocean displays God’s constant, consistent, powerful, and majestic nature. God speaks of His promises in so many ways in the Bible and in His creation to appoint people, declare irreversible truth, and subdue and destroy evil. God’s word is promise — and so powerful.

My hope is that this year’s recital will both encourage you and remind you of God’s promises. He will never leave you, nor forsake you — no matter what. God loves you and will relentlessly chase after you for He is LOVE. Thank you for another incredible year of teaching the love of dance. I am forever grateful.

Love,
Amy
